The 2nd Ayurveda Day (Dhanwantri Jayanti) on 17th October 2017

Ayurveda, is a system of medicine with historical roots in the Indian subcontinent. In countries beyond India, Ayurveda therapies and practices have been integrated in general wellness applications. Dhanwantari is an originator god of Ayurveda.  

 

 

Government of India is celebrating the 2nd Ayurveda Day on the day of Dhanwantri Jayanti falling on 17th October 2017. The main function shall be celebrated at Vigyan Bhawan, New Delhi. A film on “Scientific relevance of Ayurveda” shall be screened and the “Ayurvedic Standard Treatment Guidelines” shall also be released on this occasion. The intention behind celebration of Ayurveda Day is to significantly boost the confidence of Ayurveda doctors in treating common disease ailments at the primary care as well as at tertiary care including painful conditions. The Ministry of External Affairs, Government of India  has also decided to organize two events on this occasion  on 16th October, 2017 viz. one day National seminar on the theme “Pain management through Ayurveda”; and AYUSH CII industry conclave on the theme “Vision 2022: Widening horizons of Ayurveda for three-fold growth  of market size”.
