Ambassador lays the foundation stone for construction of Adarsha Multiple Campus Building in Dhading

On Friday, July 14, 2017, H.E. Ambassador of India, Shri Manjeev Singh Puri laid the foundation stone for construction of Adarsh Multiple Campus building at Gajuri Bazar, Dhading. The campus building is being constructed with the financial assistance of NRs. 41.2 million extended by the Government of India under its small development project scheme in Nepal.


2. The Campus, affiliated to Tribhuvan University, Kathmandu, was established in 2006 and more than 200 students are enrolled in different courses such as Business Studies and Education. The construction of the new campus building would benefit the students of the 18 VDCs especially the girls belonging to the underprivileged groups like Chepang, Tamang, and other Janjati and Dalit communities who are enrolled in the campus. The new infrastructure would provide much needed classroom space and would create an improved environment for learning and contribute to the development of the education facilities in Dhading district.


3. Apart from this, the Government of India has provided financial assistance of NR 38.3 million for one completed and one ongoing project (construction of Chhapbhanjyang Water Supply Project) in Dhading District. Additionally, 08 ambulances and 01 bus gifted by the Government of India are providing essential services to the people of the District.


4. The Government of India has been supporting Nepal in its journey of development since 1950s. The India-Nepal Economic Cooperation Programme has outlay of over NRs 76 billion with more than 552 large and small development projects completed or being implemented all across Nepal in cooperation with the Government of Nepal.  These development projects mainly focus in the sectors of education, health and infrastructure development, sectors responding to local needs as well as those helping the Government of Nepal achieve an all inclusive socio-economic development.
